AFRICA, THE CONTINENT IN NEED

We all seem to be in search for help in a continent that is deeply and truly in need of our help. Weve got thousands of people in search of a white collar job which is limited due to the economic situation of Africa. The younger generation of this great continent are being exploited of their rights.
Africa is the world's second largest and second most populous continent. It contains 54 fully recognized sovereign states. Majority of which are in the Northern hemisphere with a substantial portion and number of countries in the southern hemisphere. It hosts a large diversity of culture, ethnicities and languages.  When Africa states gained their independence from the colonial empires, they stumbled on numerous challenges such as lack of infrastructure, civil unrest, population boom, greed & corruption etc.  These factors are worth looking out for, because it has inhibited the general well-being of the African people.
GREED AND CORRUPTION: These are powerful forces that can become corrupting influence on people and their environment.  Money is seen to be equal to power, the wealthy and influential people are seen to have more power and authority over the poor. This creates a separation in different socio-economic classes in the community.  When Greed comes into the scene, it causes chaos and violence erupts. Power is seen to be abused by those in a place of higher authority without being considerate as to what impact it will have on the lower pyramid.  This serves as one of the main causes hindering the development of Africa.  Greed and corruption is like a gene in the blood of most Africans, our leaders manipulate power to their own satisfaction, therefore breeding bribery and corruption. Our leaders are engraved in amassing wealth that they forget those they rule upon.
The wings of corruption has over shadowed the light of those who have the countries greatness at heart.
INFASTRUCTURES: Due to the corruption, proper infrastructures have not been put into existence to cater for Africans.  These infrastructures are fundamental facilities & systems meant to serve the continent and also necessary for the economy to function but since there aren't much of this, our economy has gone down the drain.  Industrial strength & lack of modern infrastructure has been a great failure in Africa. The continent needs to promote industrial development to spark economic progress & alleviate poverty. One major infrastructural weak point in Africa is POWER SUPPLY.
OIL: There’s abundance of oil in the continent which are being misused in some part.  The discovery of oil that should have been a blessing to us all, is rather a thorn in the flesh. Since there’s a great deal of money involved, all focus has been on the oil sector while abandoning other sectors of the African economy.  Again, Corruption comes into play, the money realized wasn’t use positively but was rather put into private use.
POPULATION BOOM: Fertility rate in Africa is increasing daily which calls for adequate attention. We are having an increase in population and a decline in economic growth. As of today, Africa's population is estimated over 1.2 billion which doesn't sound well. Estimation shows that by 2050, Africa will account for nearly half of the global population. This is all due to high level of illiteracy among the African folks. The whites who have much better economy than we are aren’t having high fertility rate. If the world thinks its already struggling with overcrowding, poverty, migrants & refugees, it hasnt seen anything.
CIVIL UNREST: African countries have fallen victim of political unrest and civil wars for various reasons throughout their development.  Some of these reasons include the fight for resources, colonization, and foreign influence.  Today, many African countries are enduring civil unrest similar to earlier examples in history, namely Ethiopia, Eritrea, Rwanda and Sudan, which are plagued by disastrous armed conflicts that have caused catastrophic breakdown of law and order and opened the floodgate of carnage, social dislocation, hunger and famine.
None of Africa's problem is beyond the means and resources within the continent. What is greatly lacking in Africa is proper policy making & implementation.
Reviving the continent starts with you and I. We should all contribute positively to the nations development. Of a truth, Africa is a continent in need.
